The Distinguished Young Women of Charles County Scholarship Program is an official preliminary for Distinguished Young Women of America (DYW), the oldest and largest scholarship program for high school junior females of its type. The Greater Waldorf Jaycees have the honor of hosting and overseeing the program in the county with the help of a very dedicated and talented committee of volunteers. The young ladies that participate compete in categories such as scholastics, talent, interview, fitness and self-expression all in order to be considered for a scholarship to the college of their choosing. The winner in the county will move on to compete in the state and from there, state winners will compete at the national level in Mobile, Alabama. Since the beginning of the program, over $100 million has been granted in scholarships to participants nationally. More information including how to apply can be found at the links below.
